the fact humans think its possible to have an entirely animalless/bugless zone is such hubris and such a dangerous thing to try to pursue in general. life would be so much easier if you learned to coexist with the nature around you instead of constantly try to shove it out, an ultimately fruitless endeavor.

#is destroying the environment ecosystems and habitats and killing endangered and soon-to-be-endangered-via-your-actions creatures #and plants really worth it. especially since you need those creatures and plants to survive since they're the only reason you #have any food to begin with....?#especially bugs since they pollinate the fruits and veggies you and the other animals eat and since you're probably someone who #eats some of those animals- yeah you're kinda gonna wanna prioritize the wellbeing of pollinators if you wanna keep eating meat too #to be clear: im not saying just let bugs exist in your house or something (though i do think its beneficial to keep spiders since #they kill other bugs- but i digress) what i am saying though is to act surprised or like they're out of place being inside is dumb.#they think its a cave or something. they dont know or care about the difference.#and also- ESPECIALLY dont act surprised or offended when theres a lot of bugs outside. thats kinda where they gotta be.#that's where they should be. thats a good sign if you're seeing and hearing a lot of bugs.#see it as the boon it is. it means the environment is healthy.#unless its like. mostly pest bugs. then the env probably isnt healthy.#oh also- get used to and fall in love with weird and creepy bugs bc theyre usually the ones that eat the pest bugs you hate.#but a bunch of cicadas? healthy. a bunch of bees and butterflies and weird stick bug type bugs and assassin bugs and jumping spiders #and LOTS of beetles and such? healthy.#a lot of gnats and mosquitoes and flies? unhealthy. flies aren't always a bad sign though if theres also a bunch of bees or w/e #bc flies are also a pollinator. i saw a bunch on my goldenrod when it was turning winter and it was cute imo

I didnt feel like writing a card for my mom's bday so instead I decorated the box that the chocolates I always get her come in☺️☺️

some random mushrooms in a plantain plant (plantains are actually really cool weeds that might grow in your yard. you can use them to soothe bug bites!)

violets

snapdragons

bleeding hearts

aloe

clover(like the little flowers)

virginia bluebells

and honeysuckle!!

and then there's also little bumblebees that I drew to fill up the empty spaces

#plants #its my moms birthday today so this is her present #these are mostly native to our area #my moms really into gardening #and one year she spent several months learning about bees to prepare to get a bee hive #and then we found out that our borough didnt allow them😓#but now she loves bees a lot #and likes to plant plants that are really good for them and other pollinators #and we have like a yard with 2 different parts #so the part closest to the house is like a normal yard #and she has garden best there for vegetables n stuff #and then the back part has like a little stream by it #and she just lets all the plants grow #except for some paths and a space for our fireplace #but she did rip up some red vines with thorns on them #turns out they were and invasive type of rose #and then a bunch of milkweed grew there!!#which if you dont know is really good for butterflies!#but my mom is like a really amazing person #i love her so much and shes so cool #and shes also like really involved with our local politics #and one time she went to the school board to keep a book from being banned #but shes just like #the best mom i could ever ask for #my art #native plants

I know it's just a coincidence but it's still weird that it happened.

I gotta be less hard on myself. Annoyingly i know that my best work comes from when i am hard on myself. But i keep stopping myself from doing things i want to due to perfectionism. Annoying.

#atm i feel like im just chasing interest after interest after interest #ive been working on my mimecraft base a lot but i have. complex feelings about the base atm #im happy with it and its paradise.#its too paradise that it makes me unsettled #which is nonsense its my place and my build #but i feel a lot of pressure to make it perfect #even though I and vee are the only ones who go there and i dont really care about the likes on my posts anymore #it still makes me feel. odd.#i love the work though i love the style and i love using it as a means to imagine a better world #atm im really enjoying just spending time on the server hanging out with vee #but i get into my own head a lot about the base #its not even just the base im talking about everything but the base is the example #i built a bit of a weird interior today i just went crazy with the terracotta and the plants and a pool of water #and i keep thinking on if it was the 'right' thing to do #and if i will be able to complete it properly to a high enough standard #it also doesnt help that ive improved over the course of the last 2 years in building #so now my house looks off and weird and theres trees that need to be taken down and paths that are over textured #but i find the process of doing it and the feeling of completion really deep and important #i dont know. i feel like im constantly in a battle of pushing myself to be better but limiting myself at the same time by having fun or sthn #i feel like i should be making youtube videos or at least prepping to #but i havent because i cant figure out how to organise mods and its freaking me out. theres just loads of excuses stopping me #i dont know.#the annoying thing is pushing myself creatively has resulted in massive benefits for me lately creatively #partly i think why im feeling odd with the base atm is because ive suddenly gone for being barely able to play an hour a night to having all #the time in the world so its created a sudden influx in development #idk. this is rambly #fish talks #i want to download a minec@ft map and remove the suburban housing to replace with higher density properties becsuse ive been watching too #much socialist urban planning videos again and c1t1es skyl1nes just isnt cutting the cheese rn #thats the wrong saying. fandoms censored to avoid crosstagging

#HELPP ok i have thoughts.my thinking cap back on #LOVEE the ending as far as the actual direction goes yk.like people seeing (literally) the pain&plight of plants #and vowing to protect and look after them w utmost care #loved that knives technically survived the fall and the aftermath esp in recruiting someone to care for vash #BUTTT i dont know how i feel ab his death ;___; the symbolism w the apple tree and him using the last of his energy is sweet #and i dont think i would dislike it necessarily if we just had more time #to marinate in his story.i think... the ending does not give u a lot of time to reach the full conclusion #i think that theres a whole side to his story i WISHH nightow explored and i wish we had seen knives turmoil and vashs acceptance of his #experiences more than the select few scenes we got beforehand. its soo rushed T_T DONT GET ME WRONG im still more or less satisfied that #we didnt get an ending like.. oh everyones dead and miserable and vash killed knives and ppl never learn to coexist right #like it could actually be so thematically worse BUTT im just like. THATS ITTT??? THATS ALL..sitting here twiddling my thumbs #waiting for a complete resolution thatll never come to be.and it sucks bc i wish i could look towards stampede to get that neat wrap up #but stampede completely altered knives' story and fell into the nasty horrid pittrap of aligning him with reprehensible values #so no conclusion of theres will ever touch on max!knives' conclusion and i think that is the thing im looking 4 the most #no conclusion of theirs* sry LAWL #also read some posts (by trigum LUVV ur analyses btw i need to rb some now that i finished) that the max ending #doesnt give vash an ACTUAL ending. we reach the climax in his confrontation with legato and then his commitment to save knives #but anything beyond that just doesnt exist. I have been here one full day and I am already ready to go back to my apartment why am I like this 🙃

also please lord tell me what have I eaten that has completely ruined my stomach, I feel like I've been nauseous since I got here 😫

#i will get over it and be sad to leave in two days haha #i got to walk around the koreatown plaza out here and got snacks and milk tea w my sister #then we went to lunch w my parents 😊#and grocery shopping #then lin left and my parents and i went to a few places for fun #we watched the last voyage of the demeter a n d everything everywhere all at once together #(finally seeing it!!!! it was great & loving and i cried)#(because of course)#my mom got up at one point and got dizzy she fell and kept falling and it was Really sudden and very scary #all the plants were knocked over and i was immediately screaming like an idiot #but i helped her up and we walked slow to the bathroom together so i could look her over and make sure nothing was too bad #she skinned her arm in a places - she's so skinny so it bled a lot which was also scary.#i may have immediately stress cried while i was helping with her and we sat together for a long time to talk #then my dad was So Upset so he had to vent #(i understand his frustration to a point but i also feel like he's holding everyone else to this standard in his mind - )#(- of how they should “deal” with my mom having cancer - that my older siblings aren't “stepping up to help”)#(but he literally talked about my mom fading away and getting weaker every day like she wasn't sitting right next to him ???)#(and she was!)#i don't know MAN #i dont have things figured out at all but ot made me so angry and so sad #i know he is just feeling hurt and upset 🫠🫠🫠

Making ocs is an art that i think was lost on me, to do that i think you need to be able to figure out a life and in order to do THAT i need experience in making ocs. Dammit i gotta do this badly, scared and for the first time

#hex is a black cat with purple accents. hes a stocky but fluffy cat with medium length fur #i cant decide if he has purple eyes or brown #i want to draw him as a bartender #he should be able to wear hats. i think he would be good at wearing a hat #god im a boring person #hex has a sibling. i dont really have him fleshed out but hes called decimal #i think hes a brown tabby cat whos much fatter #hex is super bad at sports but he knows how to box bc he used to fight with dex #he used to be really into orange things and has a bunch of orange stuff left over from it but now hes more into black+bright/glowing pink #maybe ill draw him in a pink jacket one day #thats a lot already oh wow #hes good at playing cards and can deal like a showoff (i know nothing about cards)#hes good at caligraphy but his handwriting is like chickenscratch #hex #he signs all his cards with a giant flourish that takes up half the card but its pretty so they dont mind #he really loves fire lilies bc of his orange phase but couldnt bear to repot them for dragon lilies. like what is he gonna just evict them?#so hes has the extra thing of seeds next to the planter but no plans on planting them any time soon #hes a soft type of dude but once you know him he'll bite #he tries to be refined but it just ends up camp meanwhile dex would ride an atv through mud all day if he could afford to #he paints but hes never satisfied with it so he ends up just painting over it and making it an abstract portrait if he fucks up #when hes painting he always starts by painting his claws a matching color
